Frameworks: In the Frame
In the Frame is a short film about a little girl meeting her grandparents for the first time in years. She decided to record her perspective of Thanksgiving dinner - this time with two additional family members - in which feels very familiar but also very new.
This video is a part of Frameworks. This series shows the compositional process in real time through the use of short films. Some of these videos are of me improvising these film scores without a film and others will have short films with my music.
Folie a Deux
Kyla’s film is inspired by cosmic horror, which I naturally gravitated to. The plot leaves the audience in suspense the entire time, and I wanted to heighten that experience through my score. The film captures the essence of cosmic horror with the unknown and unexpected by leaving the audience guessing all the way until the end.
from the Director: When a young woman suspects that a strange creature may be living inside of her head, she turns to her mysterious coworker for help.
Folie a Deux was directed by Kyla Bruegel and received its premiere on April 29, 2019 at Rodeo Cinema.
Ari’s Journey
Featuring a combination of orchestral and electronic instruments to create a hybrid genre called tribal sci-fi, the Ari's Journey soundtrack builds layers on layers to enhance not only gameplay but also create an entire sound world.
Layers are added and subtracted as the intensity of the game changes to provide a dynamic listening environment to promote meditation and/or disorientation - sometimes even at the same time.
