Created in collaboration with Dr. Jonathan Helmick and the Slippery Rock University Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Forerunner honors the past, present, and future of our personal and collective family trees. The evolving and aleatoric musical textures throughout the piece allow both ensembles and audiences to create a new experience with each performance while maintaining the fundamental musical structure metaphorically provided by our ancestors. Forerunner combines concept with sound to remind listeners that we, just as our predecessors did, create possibilities for those that come after us.

Due to the consortium members’ exclusive rights to performance, Forerunner will be available for purchase in 2025.
